Our Stage

Painting Space with Fire and Light

From stadiums holding tens of thousands to corporate parties, indoor hotel events, and local festivals, we build each stage to suit the venue and its purpose.

We have worked on many commercials and events for companies in Japan and abroad, on staging for live concerts, and on TV programs and music videos. Drawing on our safety track record, we propose original staging.

High Safety Standards

We rigorously manage the safety of our fuel, props, and performers. On request, we can also provide heat- and fire-resistant sheets to protect the stage and arrange liability insurance (performances in Japan; bodily injury coverage up to JPY 1 billion), both for an additional fee.

Originality

We keep developing new forms of expression built around our three show formats: the FIRE SHOW (fire), the LIGHT SHOW (light), and the HYBRID SHOW, which combines fire and light.

A Stage Beyond Words

Our non-verbal shows are built from light, music, and the human body. They can be enjoyed regardless of language, culture, age, or nationality.

Origin of the Name

Where Our Name Comes From

Kaguzuchi is the name of the god of fire and radiance in Japanese mythology. In the Kojiki (Records of Ancient Matters) he appears as Hinokagutsuchi-no-Kami, and in the Nihon Shoki (The Chronicles of Japan) as Kagutsuchi and as Homusubi.

He was the last god born to Izanagi and Izanami, and he is also said to be the origin of the name Kaguya-hime (the shining princess of Japanese folklore) and of the word kagayaku (“to shine”). Legend has it that with his birth, the world of the living and Yomi, the land of the dead, were separated; Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, and Susanoo were born; and day and night came into being.

History

Our Journey So Far

  1. We began our fire performance activities overseas. We performed in South Korea, Thailand, and Taiwan and appeared on TV and in commercials many times, and in 2008 we staged our first light show inside a large stage venue, at Pacifico Yokohama.

  2. On the B'z live tour “LIVE-GYM Pleasure 2013 ENDLESS SUMMER,” we provided fire swords for the performers on stage (technical cooperation). We appeared in SKE48’s “Utsukushii Inazuma” music video and in an au TV commercial. We began regular summer vacation shows at Sunshine Aquarium (through 2018).

  3. On Porno Graffitti’s stadium tour, with all the venue lights turned off in front of 35,000 people, we staged a 7-minute segment with fire alone. We also strengthened our light performances, making us fully able to perform on stages where no fire is used.

  4. At Google’s global event “Ingress Shonin” (Kyoto International Conference Center), we performed on a stage for an audience of about 6,000 using light performance only. We appeared at all 21 shows of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s hall tour, and for her London show we were in charge of the graphic poi effects.

  5. We performed low-temperature pyrotechnics and fire at a J.League official match halftime show, a first in Japan. We created fire and light staging for the AKB48 Kohaku Taiko Uta Gassen (Red vs. White Song Battle) and for a Momoiro Clover Z concert at Makuhari Messe, the first fire and light staging ever inside the venue. We also went on a cultural exchange tour with Sweden.

  6. With 24 performers, we staged the finale of STAR ISLAND, the Future Hanabi Entertainment fireworks show. We also performed a large-scale fire show inside Seibu Dome and handled the staging on our own for the premiere screening of the film “Blade Runner 2049.”

  7. We created the staging for an 80 m stage across all 12 shows of SEKAI NO OWARI’s outdoor tour. We performed as the main act at all 9 games of the SoftBank Hawks’ “Taka no Saiten” (Hawks Festival), and handled the staging on our own for the ceremony of the Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Road Race. For Zojirushi’s “Embudaki” TV commercial, we supervised the fire staging (coaching Go Ayano’s acting, providing fire technology, and overseeing safety during filming) and also appeared in it.

  8. We incorporated as KAGUZUCHI Co., Ltd. We continued to supervise the fire staging and appear in Zojirushi’s “Embudaki” series of commercials. We performed on a stage for Saudi Arabia’s National Day and at the countdown at Marina Bay, Singapore, gaining more experience with large-scale shows overseas.

  9. We launched regular performances in Odaiba, held more than 200 days a year (they ended due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Our work on screen grew, including an NHK 8K super slow-motion program, a Yakult “Tough-Man” TV commercial, and the variety show “Sekai no Hate Made Itte Q!”

  10. We toured with the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch Relay celebrations for 121 days across 47 prefectures. We also performed at MIYAVI’s livestreamed concert at Kiyomizu-dera Temple and gave the first-ever fire performance inside Tokyo Big Sight.

  11. We performed at the Tokyo Yakult Swallows’ opening game ceremony (the first use of fire at Jingu Stadium) and at the 10th anniversary of TOKYO SKYTREE’s opening. We were the only act from Japan invited to perform at the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix.

  12. We staged indoor fire shows in hotels in many parts of Japan, and a fire and light stage at WATERS takeshiba under strict safety management. On TV Asahi’s “Karisome Tengoku,” we coached the cast in fire performance and performed alongside them.

  13. At STAR ISLAND 2024 (Fukuoka and Tokyo), we created one of the world’s largest fire productions, linking 600 m of coastline with flames. We also staged an indoor fire show at the Imperial Hotel Tokyo.

  14. We performed more often in the snow, including at the 60th Zao Juhyo Festival and a Johnnie Walker Blue Label event in Niseko. We performed at STAR ISLAND 2025, with fire effects covering a wider area than the previous year. We also appeared on the first-episode special of Nippon TV’s “timelesz Familia.”

  15. At STAR ISLAND 2026, we created fire staging on 8 floating stages set up on the water off Odaiba. We appeared in Bimi’s “Kagutsuchi” music video and created its fire staging. In October, we are scheduled to give an invited performance at FIREMOSA, Taiwan’s international fire dance arts festival.
